Description of the Tour:

A mere 1-hour trip North-East from Riga lies Sigulda, a charming little garden town – the administrative centre of Gauja National Park (largest in Latvia), the winter sports capital of Latvia due to its ski slopes and Bobsleigh and Luge Track and a source of inspiration for countless artists throughout centuries as well as hopeless romantics. This is an all-year-round destination, however, it’s at its prettiest in spring in full bloom or autumn when leaves are turning.

In this tour, we’ll visit the Turaida Museum Reserve, home to the medieval Turaida Castle, one of the symbols of Latvian independence movement of 1980s – the Folk song park, as well as one of the oldest wooden churches in Latvia. Afterward, we’ll pay a short visit to Gutmanis cave in Latvia before proceeding to the ruins of crusaders’ castle in Sigulda.
